@MrDemilord agree that’s reasonable though he did return for Glitterball, Neopolis is the only album I don’t like (even like Cry in bits) but he did play good bass on that album

The Simple Minds sound rested on Derek Forbes’ bass lines. When he left, they went a bit shit… even John Giblin couldn’t even play Someone Somewhere in Somertime. No one could touch them between ‘81-’83. I will always look back with fond memories of that time because of Simple Minds. Thanks Derek, you were, and still are just brilliant.

See that’s the thing if people went back to Neopolis they would find Derek’s great bass sound there.

Ur the bass man Derek!! If only the Minds could get in a room, get out all the analogue gear with you and Mick McNeil and write some tunes like the early stuff! Those early albums are timeless! All the best!!

Mr Derek Forbes ….one of the greatest bass players in the early 80’s along with Peter Hook…”I’m a bit pissed but there you go”…ROFL….nice to know some ex-rock stars still have a sense of humor.
